Camp Timpoochee

Jennifer WilliamsJennifer Williams - Resident Director

Jennifer was born in New York and moved to Hernando Co, Florida in 1989 when she was nine years old. She learned about county 4-H through friends at school, and immediately joined a 4-H horse club. Her 4-H agent at the time, Bill Hill, cultivated Jennifer’s interest in shooting sports and public speaking, eventually leading to her participation in Congress and Legislature. Having enjoyed Ocala 4-H Center as a camper and counselor, she joined the staff at Camp Cherry Lake in 1998, eventually serving as Florida 4-H’s youngest Program Director in 1999 (at 18, barely). Lifeguard and archery instructor certifications followed, then college, grad school, a grown-up job, and now marriage! I am a firm believer in the 4-H program, a product of its tenets, and an enthusiastic alumnus. It is my honor to serve the 4-H camping program as a resident director. Camp Timpoochee is a beautiful facility, and will hopefully continue as a wellspring of memorable 4-H traditions. Jennifer has degrees in degrees in Recreation and Leisure Service Administration. She is American Red Cross certified in Lifeguard instruction, waterfront and waterpark lifeguarding, cardiopulmonary resuscitation for the professional rescuer, first aid, preventing disease transmission, oxygen administration, and automated external defibrillator use. She also has certification as a Wilderness First Responder and for National Recreation and Parks Association as an Aquatic Facility Operator, in addition to National Archery Association certification as a Level I instructor.
