Clothing Project

In the 4-H Clothing projects, you will learn:

  • how to choose clothing, whether handmade or purchased;
  • how to care for clothing;
  • how to display poise, self-confidence in personal development and appearance;
  • how to make good consumer decisions; and
  • skills such as decision-making, getting along with others, planning and organizing, and self-responsibility.

CONSTRUCTION
(For Youth Ages 8-18)

These materials will teach you how to be smart clothing consumers as well as provide you numerous opportunities to create garments and unique costumes. Buying strategies, apparel care and design, and the social and psychological
influences of clothing are also explored.

SELECTION
(For Youth Ages 8-18)

These materials teach decision making skills through a six-step process based on fun, hands-on clothing activities that youth can do alone or with friends. It builds self confidence, teaches consumer skills, and encourages community service.
